Pros

At one time -- amazingly smart and talented coworkers, a true belief and desire to drive the mission of financial literacy and investment for everyday people. It was a pleasure and great fun to come to work. Now? I can't imagine there are any pros.

Cons

The lifecycle arc of Stash is painfully typical of a startup. While Covid certainly didn't help, management and board decisions have led to self-sabotage of epic proportions. The company is now desperately flailing to pivot into the B2B space, and in the process axed pretty much the entire braintrust of engineers that make the product work. Inasmuch as "culture" has any currency, the current management team is led by and installed as corporate parts dealers, so there is no camaraderie, no passion for the work. People are either fleeing or just waiting to be victims of the next inevitable layoff round.
