Team leads will shift any blame for things going wrong onto you, and since there is no HR department there is no system in place holding them accountable. The long-term staff is all family or family-friends with the CEO, and they have each other’s backs when things go wrong, meaning you are the one replaceable and they let you know it. Once they want you out, they will make up reasons against you for a paper trail. I’m talking about telling you to respond to emails within 5 minutes of receiving them and reminders to do tasks that have been on your plate for less than an hour. Several. Times. A. Day. I took this job despite my hesitations about the low pay because I needed a job, but I probably should have kept looking.
