Pros

In-house chef, Great graduate programme

Cons

Terrible unstable management - poor communication. Outdated business model - it's like stepping back into the 60s with all the fat old male directors sitting in their offices and their PAs outside catering to their every whim. Quality of work is repetitive and mundane as it is a small firm so there is not much variety. Marketing and Comms team have absolutely no idea what is going on as there seems to be a disconnect with the manager involved. My suggestion would be 1 year as a junior accountant to get necessary experience then cut your losses and get out of that toxic environment.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our firm. We have a range of male and female directors of different age groups. With close to 500 people we rank 6th largest firm in the country. We have taken your comments on board and constantly look to enhance the work experience of staff in non-accounting roles. We appreciate your positive comments about our graduate program. Kind Regards David Searle, National Chairman, Staples Rodway

Pros

Staff are generally easy to work with and your experience can be different based on department/manager. Given the lack of staff there is opportunity to get stuck into meaningful work early on.

Cons

Being a top performer and demonstrating loyalty doesn't matter. Directors are soulless and will turn on you/not stand up for you as soon as you speak up on the toxicity or aren't willing to give them your 24/7 to meet their illogical deadlines and demands. Stay away from the corporate finance department like the plague.
