Pros

- Remote, that's basically it I think

Cons

- toxic work environment - boss will nitpick - boss will show favorites - boss tried to take away my PTO for what she saw as a subpar article - no opportunities for growth if you're not willing to work evenings and weekends

Pros

Remote workplace, decent pay, communicative HR

Cons

- Culture of overwork. Management regularly logs on before work and messages on the weekend. I was told in a meeting that “it’s not about the hours you work,” implying that I should work outside my hours. HR was in the meeting and said nothing. When I tried to set boundaries and say something should take me more time, it was framed as a personal failing that I was unable to do it faster. Near the end, I was working 12 hour days. Judging by when I received notifications, I wasn't alone. - Complete lack of diversity. I never met another person of color at the company. Of course, mentioning this will make my identity clear...but I would like to warn future POC who are thinking about a position here. My name was consistently misspelled by white coworkers, including on my *health insurance card*, which caused significant administrative problems for me. - Dismissive HR. While overtly kind, when I brought up my concerns about diversity I was met with "diversity isn't our strong suit" and just the barest admittance that there was a problem. NOT any steps the company would take towards a solution. I was told that there’s no way my boss was discriminating towards me because she “just doesn’t think that way.” I then had to explain implicit bias and diversity to HR, a position I hope no other person of color finds themselves in. - Outdated technology. - Non-competitive rates of PTO. In a time when many people are offering 5 weeks or unlimited, I don't know how Stamats will keep up with only 10 days of PTO, and no days off on Christmas Eve or New Years eve (for the 24-25 calendar). - Sudden layoffs, which makes me doubt the health of the company.
