Pros

I'm coming up on my one year mark at StackRox. The company has an amazing team built by incredible founders in the security space, with a list of tier-1 investors, and a product that's uniquely positioned for success. Though some days can be long (like with any startup), the company culture is full of talented and passionate individuals who are a lot of fun to work alongside of. The daily free lunches, snack bars, and monthly activities keep morale high and employees happy. It's also low on politics, laid back, and welcoming. You feel a sense of ownership and mentorship as an SME and can contribute to defining the company's vision and direction. Highly recommended!

Cons

A 401k would be a welcome addition to the benefits package.

Pros

When I worked here there was truly an "open door" mentality with no ivory tower or "club" nonesense. Kamal and many of the VP's were extremely curious to listen, ask questions and engage with every single person down to the most entry level employees. You could tell they just wanted to understand every working part in their business but from a "always learning" perspective, not from a micromanaging.

Cons

Nothing that comes to mind

Pros

The chance to be a first mover and potentially a leader in a cutting edge space with a very large upside. Good engineering practices: thorough code reviews, your peers will uphold good coding standards and design practices. Testing and QA is well above average for a company the size that it currently is. Despite this, the team typically ships very fast. Management is very transparent: they are open about both the wins and the challenges more than any other company I had worked at before. Despite challenges associated with a startup, the company, (I think) has a positive outlook.

Cons

- The industry is very new and constantly changing. You need to be ok with pivoting fast and at times switching product direction on short notice. It can feel a little like the ground beneath you is always moving, but it's part of the game. - Engineering is a little on the younger side, and sometimes I felt like you could sense the immaturity and the battle of egos. Management took a while to understand how to manage a younger team well, but I think they've done a good job getting there and like to listen to feedback.
