The med surg floor is similar to a snf, some med surg patients and the rest are under a “swing” program meaning they are ready for discharge but require more physical therapy. For young nurses starting out to build their experience this is not the place to do it and management was not straight forward about the patient population that is on the floor. A lot of jobs are paying more than SCMC right now and there are quite a few dynamic issues with the unit that were reported to management and nothing was done to rectify lazy staff.
