Pros

Pay is comparable to other Oregon hospitals.

Cons

Management is so far removed from what is actually going on at the patient care level it is quickly becoming a dangerous place. They strip the staff down to bare bones, in some units people are forced to stay over and work 13-18 hour shifts because they don't staff appropriately. They keep hiring layers of management to figure out what the problem is!! The level of idiocy is astounding and would be funny if they weren't putting patients at risk. They purposely only hire newer nurses so they can save money-I hope this lands them in another lawsuit for age discrimination. Unfortunately new nurses learn from the older ones, when you have only new nurses, you tend to run into patient safety issues-St. Charles has already had these types of issues but they don't value or respect nursing-if they could figure out a way to run the hospital without nurses I'm sure they would jump on it! Oh well, maybe they can go back to their mgmt classes where they learn how to do pie charts and graphs and figure out a way to save a dying organization.
