Pros

Frontline and volunteers do an awesome job

Cons

Chief Operating Officer does little “Operating”. She cannot, will not and never does, make decisions. Her management style is that to divide and conquer and all this actually achieves is division Deputy CEO is a spiteful individual who spends far too much time on the little things instead of focusing on the big picture. He is incapable of separating his emotions from the job and therefore is unprofessional As long as the weakest links continue to run this place, the worse it will get. Turnover extremely high, staff morale at rock bottom, hard to get good quality people and when they are lucky enough to do so, they are ignored, micro managed and totally under appreciated.

Whilst we welcome feedback from colleagues (including former employees) we are firmly of the belief that this review is defamatory and been posted with malicious intent. We have not received any complaints about the matters and individuals named within it. Spurgeons takes workforce engagement seriously and have a number of effective mechanisms in place to practically support it e.g. monthly briefings, ‘Have Your Say’ engagement survey, annual colleague conference, and frontline colleague representation on the quarterly Safeguarding and Health & Safety Panels. We expect everyone who works here to identify with and exhibit our values of: hope, inclusion, and compassion.

Pros

A nice team Some lovely people remain (though many were made redundant)

Cons

Bad financial situation, redundancies after redundancies so it feels like there is no job security. Overworked as there aren't enough people Leaders don't seem down to earth or to care much - big goals but not realistic No career opportunities and pay is relatively low
