Pros

Nothing worth mentioning. A few points to note, 1. Market competitive salary 2. Good Infrastructure 3. Easy to get job, because they don't have much technical resources who can challenge you in the interview

Cons

A pure non-corporate company, where a Seth (Owner) is driving the company with blackmailing, immoral values and employee-as-a-slave mentality 1. Very long working hours - and if you don't do it, they will blackmail you over your poor performance and termination using illogical reasonings 2. Too much micro-management that frustrate individual employee 3. No recognition or reward for performing employees 4. Highly volatile and not safe environment for female employees 5. Administration is from owner's family member and a very un-ethical person who keeps threatening to complain to Owner over even minor things like putting-on Air-condition without his permission 6. Their company policies are more of the threats than policies 7. Company owner is highly abusive and use slang words for employees 8. They try not to issue you any letter on company-letterhead. I had personal fights with management over it 9. Taking a day-off is a night-mare, and you will asked too many questions and reasons for taking a day-off 10. Even in Ramazan, non-muslims employer take care of muslim employees by giving them less work, but this company will suck your blood even in the holy month of Ramazan

Spur Solutions Response

What has been stated above is completely inaccurate and baseless. The truth is that the employee in question was asked to resign from SpurSol for being dishonest and having extremely toxic work relationships with his fellow team members that led to a completely dysfunctional team and significantly hurt our product development efforts. Over 3 years our company gave him multiple chances to prove himself, even appointed him acting team lead at his insistence to allow him to prove himself as a leader. Instead what he managed to do was alienate his team members and delivered mediocre work that set us back by many months. When we realized this could not go on, we asked him to resign and gave him 3 extra month’s salary plus notice at the time. Despite our reservations, we even gave him a good reference when his next employer reached out to us to verify if he is someone they should hire. It is a shame that despite all of the above, he decided that it was okay to malign our company and make false allegations to hurt us. What is even more surprising is that he decided to do this 1.5 years after he left our company. We have worked hard to build a company that really takes pride in its people and they are our real strength. As a company we condemn this vociferously and we hope that he exercises better judgement. We wish him all the best in his career ahead.

Pros

Spursol sets the standard by which I compare other companies. Employee-centric to the core, empathetic leadership, and motivated colleagues. Leadership is truly down-to-earth; Farrukh and Bilal are both very approachable. Biannual appraisal until you reach a certain salary threshold. Gave everyone a great raise during the inflation crisis of 2023. The company has a tough recruitment process but if you pass, it pays off in dividends. The kind of culture and team-building Spursol promotes is second to none, which is evident by their higher than average employee retention. Great team events with no expense spared.

Cons

Although they try to only hire the best employees, this can create bias. Even though this isn't set in stone, they only want to hire people from the top universities, which means 90% of candidates are automatically excluded from the recruitment pool. Salaries for non-technical resources are not all that competitive, especially among IT export product-based companies. Lots of bureaucratic processes. A lot of your time may be spent filling out KPI documents. During my tenure, it felt like every month there was a new focus; most things were left half-baked before we were expected to move on to the next big thing. Processes and tools need to be more aligned.
