Pros
Meeting lots of incredible women who are doing great things in the community. Learning more about the tech industry and how everyone is connected. Very cool events. Competitive pay and free metro/parking.
Cons
Horrible management and work environment. The president of the organization yells constantly and sends emails in all caps at any hour of the day or night. She is honestly abusive to staff. When she comes in everyone seems tense, especially if you get wind that she's in a bad mood. Most people don't last or stay for more than 6 months. Tasks are haphazard and there is no real direction. There are no strategic initiatives and no job expectations; just do the work. You would do better working for a sweat shop. Working here is like walking on eggshells and you will wish you never started. President reads through your emails and sends emails to you as other staff members. There are no real meetings, just yelling at you to get the job done. No upward mobility.
