Pros

State benefits, mainly medical insurance, flexible schedule , cafe food is cheap and good, some decent competent staff , good parking

Cons

Punitive approach to nursing by mgt, unprofessionalism of staff, no raises, unsanitary and unhealthy work conditions, preferential treatment promotions are giving by who you know not what you know, Low morale of subordinate staff, unrealistic and ineffective approach to retaining new and seasoned staff.....this list can continue but a miracle needs to happen fast before this hospital comes to closure...

Pros

Great department of psychologists to work with providing inpatients at a state psychiatric hospital a variety of services (i.e., individual and group therapy, psychological assessments).

Cons

Little opportunities for upward mobility. However, great opportunities for doctoral psychology interns to do post docs and potentially be hired as full-time employees.

Pros

Coworkers throughout the hospital were great to work with except Elana and Ann in the Medical Records Dept and Ann's supervisor who was running Medical Records and knew nothing of the work. Unions were great. Café on the Grove food was great. Pay was ok could've been better. Some good incentives.

Cons

Promises that are made to get you into a job are not honored. Work you out of you category until you break down and fight you not to compensate you for damages they did to your body. Pay raises are often skipped. People who don't deserve raises get them because of who they know, and others who do deserve the raises are skipped over cause they don't know anybody or the right people. Prejudice is alive and well from supervisors (some) towards Blacks especially in the Medical Records Dept. Need more incentives for people to want to work.
