This was a great review for me to open up on a Monday Morning! Thank you 🙏 Yep, working async/remote can be lonely sometimes, and it's not for everyone! And it takes a fair bit of getting used to if you haven't worked like this before. Generally speaking, like the OP, our folks find that the trade-off is well worth it and enjoy all the flexibility, autonomy and trust that comes with it. Sadie, Director - TA

Pros

Being a fully remote async company means that, not only we are not bound to a single geographical location, we are also not bound to any timezone or fixed schedule. This means that you are free to do your work whenever you feel the most productive. Given the need for people who are able to self-manage, Circuit usually only hires Seniors and above, which means that we are surrounded by knowledgable and skilled people. Last but not least, the product itself is very interesting to work with and Circuit's commitment to quality means we can take our time coming up with the best solution and incrementally polish the features we release. It's the kind of work you can take pride in.

Cons

If you feel lost without a manager assigning you tasks or if you depends on things like daily stand-ups, then Circuit is likely not the best place for you unless you are really keen on stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new.
