Pros

WFH Unlimited PTO Monthly home office stipend of $75

Cons

The leadership is out of touch with the event market as a whole. The CEO is doubling down on features and strategies irrelevant to the event marketers' experience holistically. Right now, the focus is on growth, and that's fine - but also short-sighted. The tech debt is crippling, and the path out of it is daunting. Most of the Engineering department is hand-cuffed by the aging technology. Its been described as plumbing rather than creating. Most of the leadership is new and still trying to understand the market, the customers, and the product. Most have no real context, and the company is run purely by textbook business strategy with no real passion for the industry. Because of this, intense pressure is being put on middle management across the company. They are trying to motivate their teams within an environment where they are consistently set up to fail. Retention is a real issue. There is high turnover, and a bunch of people have left recently.

Pros

Overall some nice people to work with and around at the mid to lower levels of the company.

Cons

To be honest, I would have spared myself from this job if I could go back. It’s pretty clear from the moment you join that mid-level employees do 90% of the work at Splash and upper “management” just sits in meetings and pencil pushes their results. It is painfully obvious how things that are meant to be generous benefits are weaponized against you. The 2 day “ME Days” they’re really just glorified PTO you should be taking anyways, and are often over scrutinized. Want to try and change something? Don’t worry we’ll give you the illusion that you can, but really could not care less about you or your career. Execs are there to please the board. The product is subpar. All the wrong people have the loudest opinions and the majority of the companies good parts are carried by 10-20 people. Extremely cliquey probably the most clique centric job I’ve ever experienced, and you get the general feeling that most folks here are fake in their job just to survive the drone that is Splash. But there definitely are some overall toxic back-room talking type individuals here. HR is there to take notes on performance so they have a legal reason to let you go quietly, which happened dozens of times over the few years I worked here. Overall not a place I would ever step foot into again and I’d recommend you spare yourself from this one.
