Pros

The agency’s openness, transparency and lovely people were by far the agencies biggest asset

Cons

An unmanageable workload was consistently left to managers, SAEs, AEs and even JAEs. A number of conversations about the struggles faced by mid level team members were had with management to no avail There was an alarming turn over rate of mid level team members, such as AE & SAEs, as people at this level got burnt out by overwork (it was usual practice to work until 7/8pm) while being completely undervalued The inverted triangle structure meant the JAE- SAE team members had a number of account managers/ senior account managers to report to Lots of workload-adjacent activity (e.g joining an in-company committee) also seemed to be an expectation in order to be considered for promotion, but the workload issues often prevented that possibility. This was compounded by the fact that senior management were consistently promoted further and further up, whereas mid to junior level employees were rarely if ever considered The well meaning Wellness/Mental Health initiatives were completely under minded by total lack of acknowledgment of/ resolutions to issues flagged to senior management Overall, I can not recommend this company for anyone at SAE & AE levels. Whilst the agency’s people were at its heart and a collection of true gems, there was a complete disconnect between senior management downwards which was detrimental on many levels

Pros

Worst team that I’ve worked with. I experience racism and mocking while working for them. The senior leadership are awful and I don’t recommend working for them. No diversity in the team and they deliberately don’t employ black people. Worst team to work for

Cons

No diversity in the team. Team do not employ people of colour in particular black people. No DEI in the leadership team either

Speed Communications Response

I am both shocked and surprised to see this review. Speed has a strong culture of inclusion with every member of the team aware that discrimination of any form will not be tolerated. We consistently invest in building team awareness in this space. The whole agency undertakes compulsory Equity, Diversity and Inclusion training annually and at a leadership level additional unconscious bias training has been implemented. This commitment is also reflected in our approach to recruitment. Our in-house recruitment team work with a number a platforms and partners to raise awareness of roles ensuring as wide a reach as possible. In the recruitment process, CVs are always redacted to ensure we are shortlisting candidates based on skills and experience only. We also have an ongoing relationship with Not Impossible who help us to host 16–25 year-olds through microplacements to build our talent pipeline and fuel social mobility. You state you are a current employee, so I am taken aback that you have not raised concerns through any of the number of open or confidential routes within the agency, such as our peer level forums, supportive line management, the open door of our Head of Culture whose focus is on team wellbeing or directly to our People Services team. If any such concerns were raised action would have immediately been taken as any form of discrimination is taken very seriously. I would really like to talk to you directly and hope you will allow me this opportunity. Kelly Pepworth, MD Speed
