Pros
At Speechify you are expected to find and solve the highest leverage problems for the business, in exchange for finding the right problems and solving them well you get freedom! The beautiful thing about freedom is it looks so different for each person. for me it's working in a different location every 2 months and taking time for physical activities in the middle of the day then working when I feel energized. Due to a remote-first global company, I am able to get my work done how, when, and where I do it best. Micromanagement is kept to a minimum. Also due to a high bar for hiring I get to work with other badass smart people who are driven to deliver results.
Cons
A little bit of a sink or swim feeling comes with the freedom to set your own scope and that can feel daunting, but if handled with care by the team who's onboarding you can feel empowering, it's a fine line.
