Pros

They overpay you to get you in the door; truly a remote company

Cons

Niceness has no place here. Most of the Company is a clique and team leaders frequently lie to team members to uphold the view that it's OK to run a Company like a cult. The requirements to be in the clique are to be mean, a bad manager, and work 60+ hours a week--if you don't play by these rules, expect to be booted. Poor transparency from nearly all team leaders (across social, media and account) and inability to articulate constructive feedback leaves junior team members confused and unsure of their performance. Leaders who had been reported to HR for harassing staff and received senior-level promotions while junior staff received none as the Company still struggles to restructure after the layoffs and mergers. Underlying tones of racism and ablism run rampant. Company is mostly white women who have no interest in developing their staff and see people management as a chore. The CEO is a shadow puppet operated by toxic and incompetent EVPs. Do not come here if you value yourself.

Pros

While I worked there, Spectrum was a great place to work. We were fully remote, which was awesome, and still kept up with team bonding. I had decent benefits, an okay salary, and a great place to work. Most of the pros had to do with my specific team, though.

Cons

Cons: they had at least 2 rounds of layoffs which were super unprofessional in my opinion. Scheduled innocuous meeting with no intro, laid off, and once the meeting was over immediately locked out of our computers, which was a shame as we were fully remote and there was no way to say goodbye to our teammates. (Or, as a creative, to access our files in order to update our newly needed portfolio.) They laid off in-house creative after bringing on a "network" of freelancers, which is insane for an agency. Continually undercutting creatives is how we race to the bottom, which you'd think a CREATIVE agency would care about...
