When you are a newbie, they want you to sit quietly, overwork and consider themselves as always right. Any suggestions or attempts to share your past experiences in technology are perceived as critics. They discuss you behind your back, don’t provide an honest feedback and nitpick everything about you. What is allowed for others, is not an option for you. Some team members are toxic in communication, some are smiling at you but in reality they have some unreasonable gripes with you that they never tell you directly but complain to others. Sexist “jokes” and swear words are also ok for them during meetings.
