Pros

Good location in Union Square (all the trains go here) And that's about it.

Cons

Horrible pay for employees....don't expect to get compensated for working 10 to 12 hours other than an occasional pizza slice. I kid you not. There are no benefits for employees other than a medical plan you pay out of your own pocket for the most part. So don't count on a 401K program or flex spend program to speak of. No reviews or salary increases to speak of. And remember you are in the lowest pay bracket possible. Management is constantly spying on you as to your arrival and departure...and if they are not here there are moles that specialize in this field who report back to management every little breath you take. They have sold their soul to the devil. And don't even come in one minute late - you will be bought up on charges literally by the office manager in front of everyone!!! Management does not trust employees at all - your work is construed and micro-managed to the point of no creativity or input from yourself.....so any creativity is thwarted on all levels. This is a place just to collect a paycheck and that's it.....you have no initiative to do anything else. And it's sad because the owner who started the company was such a visionary in a man's world....at times you are ridiculed in front of the whole office by either the husband or wife owners..no way to manage a company.

Spa Week Media Group Response

Dear Disgruntled ex-sales employee (there has only been one in the past 18 months). Thank you for your recent review. I'd like to take a moment to respond to some of your comments: 1. Interesting review dated June 13, 2014 considering no sales person has quit or been fired in the past 5 months. 2. As to turnover -- the vast majority of our employees have been with the company between 4-6 years. I think that speaks for itself. 3. Sales people are given a generous base salary with an aggressive commission package. In addition, all employees that get past the three month probationary period (which you did not), get a full set of keys to the office so that they may work when they desire and as long as they desire. (I guess this point also speaks to the trust we place in them). 4. In the two months you were employed by the company you failed to show up twice for work, left early on 5 occasions and arrived late 6 times. As such, you constantly let down your team mates and continually missed your sales goals ... quite a way to make a good first impression at a new job!!! 5. Finally, since terminating your employment with the company over 5 months ago, you are still collecting unemployment. Surprising that someone as talented and driven as you has yet to find another job! Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

Pros

This review is directed at the anonymous author of the past two negative reviews (yes, it's the same person). I'm one of the "mindless stooges" who you clashed with and whom you refer to in your reviews as being "controlled by management and forced to write positive reviews". Clearly, getting employed here and your antics (in the two weeks you actually worked here) were nothing more than a ploy to receive unemployment benefits. Thanks for getting fired so quickly and minimizing the disruption you caused. If you would have stayed, I would have needed to find a new job.

Cons

small staff needs everyone to give 100%... fast pace will leave anyone unprepared or unwilling, behind.

Pros

Seems good for extra money around the holidays

Cons

Fighting for payment. Example, I submitted my request the first week of March and it is May 20th now, still not paid. I am in constant contact with them. Payment for requests/GC submissions are paid out the 15th of the following month after submission. I should have been paid April 15th. The fight now goes on and I hope no one uses Spa Week. By the way, customers, your provider eats 20%. So buy a GC directly from them so they get the full pay out.
