Pros

Stable. Cloud rotation. Pluralsight 8% bonus, if they make the thresholds. They usually do.

Cons

Very messy. Lots of inter-departmental issues. Very bureaucratic. Everything should go through managers. Nothing else than work. No fun activities. Christmas gift was a joke. No parties. No get-togethers or anything. No budget for buying a book or a course. Does not take care of its people. Very basic understanding of methodologies, like agile, etc. They do everything just to present numbers. Put up a show for DEI but nothing practical.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m glad to hear that there are aspects of life at Sovos that you enjoy. I’d like to address some of the negatives you listed. Sovos is a highly matrixed, rapidly growing, global organization. To ensure we remain effective as we grow, we have made substantial investments in both the technology and human capital necessary to establish global best practices that scale and facilitate cross-functional collaboration. We are evolving, and as we do we appreciate receiving insight from our employees. If you have specific ideas on areas of improvement, please reach out to local leadership. They will be glad to hear from you. The lack of in-person activities during the pandemic has been challenging, and many people from within and outside of our organization echo your sentiments. However, the health and wellbeing of our employees takes precedent over social events. We are, like you, anxious to host in-person activities as soon as it is safe to do so. Finally, I want to address your concerns about our DEI initiatives. DEI is change management and change takes time. As an organization, we are committed to a culture where diversity is appreciated, all are included, and our practices and policies are equitable for all our employees. DEI at Sovos is a journey, not a destination. We will continue to identify opportunities and act to be the change we want to see. I invite you to reach out to me to for more information about our DEI progress and plans, in addition to discussing how you can participate in our continuing evolution. Our mission to Solve Tax for Good requires the combined experience, skills, and unique perspectives of every one of our employees, so for us it is mission-critical that everyone feels able to bring their full self to work. To that end, Sovos is putting very real resources into ensuring ours is a culture that is inclusive of everyone. We appreciate you, and thank you once again for your feedback – Nina

Thank you for sharing this, and welcome to the team! It's wonderful to hear that your recruiting experience set such a positive tone from the start. Cassie is a great example of the kind of Sovosians we are proud to have representing our culture, and knowing she made you feel informed and at ease throughout the process genuinely matters to us. We also love hearing that your first day onboarding helped you connect with our values and get a feel for what we do. That experience is something we work hard to get right, and your feedback confirms it's landing the way we intend. We're glad you're here, and we look forward to growing together. Pros

Being Remote and standard benefits

Cons

Sales leadership is horrendous. New people are brought in not trained, aggressive targets (that have never been hit) usually designed to be the escape goats to protect the old guard. Long tenured sales protects the existing power structures. When results slip, they blame newer reps. New hires don’t hit, quotas unrealistic, weak implementation. Nightmare of a company, the worst I have ever worked at.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Feedback matters, even when we see things differently. Quota-setting and new hire ramp structures are areas we invest in seriously - they're because we want our sellers to win, not to set anyone up to fail. That's the culture we've built, and it's one I'm proud of. That said, I do hear that your experience hasn't matched that intent. If there are specific gaps in how you were onboarded or supported, I'd genuinely like to understand them so we can keep getting better. Please connect with HR or reach out to me directly. We're committed to building a team where every rep has a real shot at success! Alice Katwan, President of Revenue, Sovos
