Pros

I had a great tight-knit group to work with, and from those relationships I'm still friends with most of them to this day.

Cons

HR was just plain bad and if you weren't at their beckon call, or rubbed them the wrong way you were shown the door. Before being bought by an investment group Sovos had a lot of great talent, especially in leadership, but when an investment group bought Sovos and expanded their portfolio it became evident that there wasn't room for all of the cooks in the kitchen and the good ones were let go. With mostly poor leadership left stress and chaos ensued. After having my leadership fired I stepped up to do their daily job and waited 6 months for them to repost the opening (it was considerably cheaper to have me doing the job at my pay scale,) only for them to hire someone from outside of the company instead who I would then need to train to be proficient. Fortunately I could see it coming a mile away and already had my resume out there. Lastly Sovos liked to hire fresh inexperienced graduates for a fraction of industry standards, so there was quite a revolving door for full-time staff. I wouldn't recommend working there to a friend.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. What resonates most is your comment about your Sovos colleagues. This is the most consistent feedback we get: the people here are exceptional. I am pleased to know you created meaningful connections during your time here, and those connections live on. Although our last change in ownership was over five years ago, I can see it affected you at that time. I understand that. Change can be stressful and, sometimes, hard to understand. We can always do a better job of (over-)communicating and supporting people during times of significant change. As a software company serving customers at the intersection of digital and regulatory transformation, Sovos operates in a fast-paced and ever-evolving world. In the past five years, we have adapted in ways that have allowed us not only to keep up – but to become a leader in our market. That is good news for our clients, our investors and, most importantly, our employees. Thank you for the time you spent with us. I wish you the best in your career.

Thank you for sharing this, and welcome to the team! It's wonderful to hear that your recruiting experience set such a positive tone from the start. Cassie is a great example of the kind of Sovosians we are proud to have representing our culture, and knowing she made you feel informed and at ease throughout the process genuinely matters to us. We also love hearing that your first day onboarding helped you connect with our values and get a feel for what we do. That experience is something we work hard to get right, and your feedback confirms it's landing the way we intend. We're glad you're here, and we look forward to growing together. Pros

Being Remote and standard benefits

Cons

Sales leadership is horrendous. New people are brought in not trained, aggressive targets (that have never been hit) usually designed to be the escape goats to protect the old guard. Long tenured sales protects the existing power structures. When results slip, they blame newer reps. New hires don’t hit, quotas unrealistic, weak implementation. Nightmare of a company, the worst I have ever worked at.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Feedback matters, even when we see things differently. Quota-setting and new hire ramp structures are areas we invest in seriously - they're because we want our sellers to win, not to set anyone up to fail. That's the culture we've built, and it's one I'm proud of. That said, I do hear that your experience hasn't matched that intent. If there are specific gaps in how you were onboarded or supported, I'd genuinely like to understand them so we can keep getting better. Please connect with HR or reach out to me directly. We're committed to building a team where every rep has a real shot at success! Alice Katwan, President of Revenue, Sovos
