Pros

It's people at the coalface. Below regional director level the people are friendly and team work is important. Front line staff are committed, hard working and passionate. Great benefits. Flexible depending on your manager.

Cons

Currently very unstable due to savage and brutal restructure. Cyclical in housing but this one feels change for change sake and lots of people pleasing. Exec board are so far removed from the reality of front line housing management it is mind boggling. The decision makers say they're listening but they're not. Work loads are so unmanageable and unsustainable and despite a year telling them the risks and that we're not coping nothing changes . They have refused to provide additional staffing to help with the unrealistic workloads. Managing risk and safeguarding is like juggling plates and our service standards are impossible to meet then we get hen pecked for poor customer satisfaction results. It's chaotic with far too many systems that dont talk to each other. Sovereign has grown in to such a big beast it's imploding on itself. This means chronic and frustrating inconsistencies at management level and across regions and noone seems to care. Morale has never been lower and lack of trust with the execs has never been higher.

Pros

1. Your fellow team members are friendly on the whole. 2. Pay etc is average. Could earn more elsewhere despite Board saying it's benchmarked. 3. Benefits are fairly standard.

Cons

1. Senior Leadership and Exec Board have no idea what happens below them. 2. Way too much political games going on. 3. No direction from above. 4. If you are saying a message Senior Leadership don't want to hear - they'll just ignore it. 5. Lots of promises - little action. 6. T & Cs forced upon you, irrespective of what your contract says, 7. Senior Leadership & Exec Board seem to assume every staff member lives 10 minutes away. Don't use data to understand their own people. 8. Inter department fighting means nothing gets done well or collaboratively. 9. Corporate headquarters in Basingstoke suffers from lack of parking. Senior leadership seem to assume everyone lives within 10 minutes of Basingstoke. 10. No flexible working model.
