Pros

* Learning how to install/repair cable infrastructure * Company provided vehicle/vehicle maintenance * Paid weekly

Cons

* Overbearing micromanagement * Impossible expectations, goal-line is always changing * Inconsistent work responsibilities - you wear many hats and may work in several locations * Inconsistent work/life balance - likely little time at home * Confusing pay structure - very hard to know what you'll bring home * Ineffective communication * Little to no opportunity for advancement * Management is not interested in your personal development * Poor management - While the local area manager is helpful and understanding, anyone beyond is ineffective and lacks the ability or willpower to recognize or rehabilitate the poor working conditions and depressing environment * Lacks the resources and focus to facilitate a support structure for field technicians and in-office personnel * Follows metrics religiously without a consideration for context - it doesn't matter why you're doing poorly, only that you're doing poorly. * Ineffective coaching strategies to correct poor performance - extremely out of touch approaches and procedures * Lack of compassion for life events - i.e. if you have a death in the family you better have a death certificate * Very unprogressive - they do not appreciate improvements to outdated processes * Overall a very unwelcoming work environment * Can't wear shorts, even if it's 96 degrees outside

Pros

Small company. Most likely family owned. Good place to start if you don’t know that much. Be prepared to do most of the hard labor work. Respectfully company but has very low communication when it comes to a defiant pay scale

Cons

This company is ran differently, when I applied there was no interview, instead he gave me an address and asked if I would meet him on site. Since I didn’t know any better I went and helped with an install. When I arrived I introduced myself he did the same. Gave me a few tasks to do to see if I knew anything. The job was really simple I thought everything was good. He asked me to come to a different site the next day. We had a discussion about pay he he said high competitive so I don’t think anything about it negatively. Finished that job the same day, there were some minor hints that needed to be done but for the most part the site was complete. Didn’t hear back from him after that until the following week along for my personal information so that he could cut me a check for my way. When I received my check I was highly upset. He basically paid me minimum wage for the work I did as if I was a green guy. So if you are skilled do not work here they will lead you on and low ball you, but if you don’t know that much about telecommunications this would be a great place to start.
