Upper management is lazy, you will be doing the work of yourself and several others, very poor support system, not allowed ANY pto or sick time, not allowed any flexibility in schedule. The 7 on 7 off seems nice but you need 48 hrs to recover as unlike day provider who can work 6/8/10 hr shift you will always work 12 hrs. Constantly short staffed, no one ever addresses real problems- medical leaders too involved with personal affairs/gossip/ inappropriate relationships to care about patients or actual work. When there’s staffing issues upper management hopes someone will play “hero” and work overtime vs actually hiring more people. You will do 10-15 admissions at night minimum and answer 200-500 calls/messages at minimum- management refuses to see there’s need for more providers at night, they leave APP alone for managing the whole hospital. Turnover is insanely high, no one finishes their night contract. Even locum physicians quit. This isn’t just this area either, bad reviews show the night position is bad for many regions.
Also RVU is always paid out less than earned- I have had to have adjusted at least 5x in 2 years. They randomly hold your pay and lie about reimbursement for CE as they don’t have funding and will likely be bought out soon.
