While I am glad that you liked the generous paid time off, you are not correct about bonuses. In a government-funded environment, they are not permitted. Our finances are independently audited and reported to government officials. Regarding raises, we have been cut by funding sources by 750K over the past 1.5 years, and no one was laid off as a result. Thank you.

Pros

Staff training and autonomy: staff are focused on serving their clients with a very high level of emotional Intelligence. Most proud of the culture that contributed to the agency achieving a top Connecticut workplace 4 years and counting.

Cons

Sometimes, hard decisions must be made, even after working endlessly to help an employee grow. Compensation and the ability to provide salary increases is based on how the state of CT funds nonprofits.

Your coworkers are pretty friendly, considering you're all in the same crappy situation together

Cons

Union, disconnected leadership, high burnout, dangerous work, low budgets, no performance-based raises, high turnover, you're always carrying multiple roles... Leadership does not have your back
