Pros

Relaxed environment. Friendly coworkers that try to have relationships outside of the workplace. Good training that is very in-depth with great control processes. Decent insurance.

Cons

Always empty promises for raises or advancement. The only way to get one is to trade positions within the company. It's all a matter of who you know. Bonuses are only given if the entire company meets their quarterly goals (a good way for the company to take all the blame off of upper management for not giving bonuses) I was sexually harassed by a manager, and when I complained, I was let go due to a 'reduction of force'. They're lucky that I didn't sue the company.

Pros

This company is good to work for. It's small (~110 employees). We get together quarterly for a free lunch so we can hear how the company is doing, and have 3-4 company activities a year, including a X-mas party. The Lab Director is wonderful and understanding, and everyone knows they can turn to her for help and support. Some positions offer flexible schedules. Turnover is mostly due to people moving on, and not due to layoffs or firings; they like to work out issues with employees. Nice benefits. They like to hire from within. Great learning opportunities (Six Sigma, continuing education, lending library, etc).

Cons

We used to get bonuses quarterly, but have not in years. Most positions do not have flexible hours due to production schedule. Pay is not competitive. Not everyone is considered for upward mobility, and not a lot of new positions open often. Management seems aloof due to too many meetings and responsibilities, making it stressful for others, especially their support teams. Mgt shirks their responsibilities due to having too many projects going on at once.
