Pros

I had some really wonderful colleagues Nothing else

Cons

My experience at Soprano Design highlighted several structural challenges that make it a very difficult environment for employees and customers alike. The leadership culture is heavily pressure-driven, with management styles that often rely on fear and unrealistic expectations rather than clear direction and support. This has created a working environment where morale is low and where many experienced professionals have chosen to leave. From a market perspective, the company also appears to be struggling to keep pace with competitors. The core solution feels increasingly dated and has notable technical and functional limitations, while other providers in the market have moved significantly ahead in terms of innovation and reliability. There also appears to be a lack of clear long-term strategy. Opportunistic deals are still being pursued, but the organization often struggles to deliver consistently at the level customers expect. The recent leadership changes have further amplified internal instability. The arrival of the new CRO coincided with the departure of the entire VP leadership team within a very short period of time, which removed a significant amount of experience from the organization. Compensation and employee treatment are also areas of concern. Salaries tend to fall below market standards, and discussions around commissions, bonuses, or exit packages can become unnecessarily difficult. As a result, the company is facing a combination of declining employee morale, increasing turnover, and challenges maintaining credibility in the market. Advice to candidates: Ensure you clearly understand the culture, leadership approach, and expectations before accepting a role.

Pros

Great people that need to leave when they can !

Cons

Take the positive reviews with caution, many were encouraged internally and don’t reflect reality. Soprano Design operates under a culture of fear. Some members of the executive team lead through intimidation rather than inspiration. Disrespect, dismissive behaviour, and public humiliation have become part of daily life. Decisions are made impulsively, priorities shift constantly, and employees are left to deal with the fallout. The environment is toxic: pressure is constant, collaboration is discouraged, and taking responsibility is rare. When things go wrong, blame is pushed down the chain. Morale is low, turnover is high, and burnout is seen as normal. Also words like bullying, narcissistic, egotism, controlling, know it all, disrespect, selfish, come to mind. There are great people in this company. Smart, motivated, and kind, but they are trapped in a system that rewards control, not competence. Many eventually leave, not because they can’t handle the work, but because they can’t tolerate the culture. Others are fired because they stood up for honesty and respect. If you value professionalism, respect, or psychological safety, look elsewhere.
