Pros

SIE is an outstanding place to work. You’ll be collaborating with people who are genuinely passionate about the PlayStation platform, and that enthusiasm truly shines through in their work. The energy is contagious—even if you’re not a gamer yourself (as I’m not), you’ll quickly find yourself inspired. The London office focuses on R&D, so you’ll have the chance to work on exciting, innovative projects, especially during hackathons. The office space has been recently renovated and includes a large cafeteria that offers breakfast and lunch daily at very reasonable prices, with impressive quality. There's also a professional coffee shop on-site that serves great coffee at low prices. SIE frequently hosts parties and celebrations, and you’ll get plenty of cool merchandise too. Overall, it’s a dynamic, fun, and rewarding environment!

Cons

The only downside I’d mention is the pay, which is quite average. However, this is balanced by very flexible working hours and a great work-from-home policy, making it an overall positive experience.

Pros

Good culture in my department. Positive, supportive, professional. Work life balance has improved. Generally less crunch culture, although overtime hasn't completely disappeared. It happens but in my view the company does seem to be making efforts to avoid crunch as much as possible. Benefits are good.

Cons

Culture depends on the team. It's a big company and sometimes you may work with different departments, studios or teams who aren't supportive or professional. Can take a long time for the company to deal with problematic employees. Decision making from company leadership can be baffling. Limited opportunities for advancement. This has always been true, but it has gotten worse due to the economy and a certain administration. Pay could be better.
