Pros

The kiddos you work with are fantastic Different age groups and behavioral severity Ability to take pto No weekends and nights not required

Cons

No sick leave-you get up to 40 hours of unpaid leave (but doctors notes are NOT accepted) Human Resources does not hold themselves accountable, slacking on giving raises when they are due Yeah, you can take pto, but you only accrue one day (7 hours) PER MONTH Having to complete tasks outside of work hours with no extra pay (RBT logs, training videos, all the RBT training) Only a 35 hour work week (unless you join the after school program) with no opportunities for overtime. Poor work/life balance when trying to move up in the company due to outside of work tasks

Good morning, let's clear up this information. I'm happy to speak to you, please call me. We do have sick leave, we have PTO and give total autonomy to what you want to do with it. We start with two full weeks if full-time. We give several weeks of UPTO as well and paid holidays as well unless your attendance does not meet the requirement. Let's explain the doctors notes. We have families that don't have access to a doctor or struggle with deductibles, one of our values is Equitable Access, so to make things Equitable we set the rules the same. Everyone gets UP TO and earns time back. We also take every case by case and support in any situation if someone is unhealthy. What we do enforce is accountability. Our clients deserve the best, parents trust us with their kids so we do set standards and we do follow through. Again, I'm happy to speak with you if you have concerns or questions. Thank you! Pros

Sonnenberg has a smaller community feel, as opposed to bigger ABA companies who don't take the time to care. Leadership is willing to listen, even when something seems small. And things do change because we speak up and have conversations about them. That means a lot.

Cons

If you've never worked with people with high support needs, ABA can be a challenge. Connecting with nonverbal people of any age can be hard. Behaviors happen. It's part of why we do what we do. I think for Sonnenberg though, we have the same downsides that any ABA company has, with a lot more positives to balance it.

Pros

There is a great community within Sonnenberg. I have never worked with a company that felt so inclusive and supportive of each other. Feedback that I have given has been taking into consideration and direct change has been made to policies and processes in ways that are supportive of the employees and overall work culture. I think there is always a lot going on behind the scenes to learn and grow, updating processes and policies to best support the growth of the organization and staff. There are clear advancement paths available for all staff, so event though it is a smaller organization, there are many ways that you can grow an entry-level job into a fulfilling career. The work that Sonnenberg does is in direct support of the clients and the community they serve, which is very fulfilling work.

Cons

Working in ABA can be come with emotional stress, so doing research on what the work will entail during the hiring process and implementing provided training is a must to avoid burnout as you transition into this field. It can be very rewarding, the schedule is created in a way to support a healthy work/life balance, but staff must put in the personal effort to ensure they are protecting their emotional wellbeing when working in ABA (this is the same for anyone working in health care, education, social work, or any other related field.)
