Pros
There is a great community within Sonnenberg. I have never worked with a company that felt so inclusive and supportive of each other. Feedback that I have given has been taking into consideration and direct change has been made to policies and processes in ways that are supportive of the employees and overall work culture. I think there is always a lot going on behind the scenes to learn and grow, updating processes and policies to best support the growth of the organization and staff. There are clear advancement paths available for all staff, so event though it is a smaller organization, there are many ways that you can grow an entry-level job into a fulfilling career. The work that Sonnenberg does is in direct support of the clients and the community they serve, which is very fulfilling work.
Cons
Working in ABA can be come with emotional stress, so doing research on what the work will entail during the hiring process and implementing provided training is a must to avoid burnout as you transition into this field. It can be very rewarding, the schedule is created in a way to support a healthy work/life balance, but staff must put in the personal effort to ensure they are protecting their emotional wellbeing when working in ABA (this is the same for anyone working in health care, education, social work, or any other related field.)
