Pros

The job was 100% remote, and was online chat only, no taking calls. My co-workers were friendly and always happy to help each other. Management was also nice and kept us informed on any changes taking place. The pay was well above what most other customer service roles were paying at the time. If you worked Saturdays, it was a half-day, so you got two and a half days off each week. We were closed holidays, but they were not paid.

Cons

No PTO. In lieu of not offering PTO, your health insurance is paid for by the company. You do get a few days for sick leave, but it's not much. While not unique to this job, it is customer service and even if done by online chat, it can be very demanding with a high queue of people.

Pros

I loved working here but unfortunately I was laid off because they lost a contract. They did not determine layoffs based on merit but instead which managers like which employees best. They hired groups of new people in the last month, yet the people who were with SSO for 4-6 months on the project have no priority whatsoever. We were laid off after being told two weeks prior that we could keep our jobs. I kept trying to get a hold of my supervisor just to discuss the criteria that determined who kept and who lost their jobs, but she will not respond to me...awesome. I wasn't mad at her, I had just never been critiqued on my work or written up. So why me? This is a nice place to work for the money and the laid back style of working and being able to take time off whenever (unpaid). Otherwise, very little job security, company is bleeding out money like crazy when it was just starting to take off, and they will make you false promises and raise everyone's spirits for nothing. We were all preparing for layoff just to be told "guess what? you guys can keep your jobs" then in turn to be laid off two weeks later with no severance package or anything. I had been preparing for a layoff in August and got two other job offers. I was then told I could keep my job so I declined those offers, just to then been laid off. Thanks, SSO. I really appreciated it.

Cons

no job security, lies, poor management, only 3 days off given? really? cmon now
