Pros

Good atmosphere, great product that you can believe in. Flexible schedule and overall enjoyable job. Company car was definitely an essential given the huge amount of time spent driving to appointments that were often not there or weren't real appointments at all. Great CEO and overall company mission, they really believe in what they are doing.

Cons

It's a lot of work to take a customer through from start to finish with their solar project, and you are the main person responsible for doing so. Commission seemed very low for leads they gave to you, the only way to make a decent amount of commission would be to generate your own leads. You have to fight to keep leads you've been given otherwise they are quick to reassign them, even jobs that you've closed you need to stay on top of if there is any sort of delay for the job (very often) or somebody else will sneak in and take it and you won't get paid. It's not a terribly complicated or difficult thing to sell, so it must be okay for them to continue with low pay and very high turnover rates.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
