Pros
Company will provide company vehicle and laptop..
Cons
Where to start, the employee turn over rate is grossly appalling. This review pertains to Los Angeles bc If you live in Los Angeles or any vicinity close to it, expect no money as you will be sent to sell solar in Compton, South Central, and Inglewood- to name a few interesting cities where homes are disqualified and -unfit for solar. There is a less than 20% success rate for going Solar in LA. Try selling solar to people who speak no English, have the lowest brackets of education- if any-that are living in the slums of Los Angeles AND did I mention-only to have your measly deals disqualified due to un-permitted structures, bad roofs and/or low income utility rate plans. The odds will be against you. As an energy consultant, you will be paid commissions AFTER installation. This means closing deals and not getting paid bc more than 80% of your jobs will not get through to install aka DQ. Also, know that it takes 4-6 weeks at minimum to get a project to install. Most ppl realize within a few months that selling solar in LA is a joke. Management will do nothing but blame you for your poor efforts or, suggest pathetic strategies like door knocking. Still you will be held accountable for hitting your quota, regardless of "excuses". It's really a no win situation. Unless you live amongst zip codes that include Bakersfield where homes are cookie cutter perfect, don't even waste your time. One last thing, keep in mind that selling solar is construction based and you will be responsible to project manage all of your deals. I'd say 10% selling 90% project managing. Your salary will NOT include project managing whatsoever, regardless of time spent working deals that will end up falling through the cracks anyways. 30 thousand salary is what you can expect and massive time and energy wasted.
