None at all. This is the most dishonest place I’ve ever been a part of.

I worked for SEP and eventually left because I was uncomfortable with some of their sales practices and how my commissions were handled. In my experience, we were encouraged to present ourselves as a “meter team” for the local utility to start conversations, then switch into a solar sales pitch, which I personally felt was misleading. I am still owed commission on two jobs completed over three months ago. During that time, I was dealing with serious health issues, car repairs, and mortgage restructuring, and the delayed payment caused significant financial strain. I was also disappointed with some of the products and pricing. Systems often used DC optimizers instead of micro inverters (their in home solar consultants control the pricing by adjusting the price per watt if you’re paying more than a 15% decrease on your current utility average you’re probably making someone a lot of money), I questioned whether certain panels were truly as advertised, the LED soffit lighting appeared to be ShowHome DIY-style kits (with poor warranties in my opinion, also be sure to ask for the linear footage so you can compare pricing etc), and the water softeners/filtration systems seemed marked up by around $2,000 and sometimes even more. All these product’s pricing appeared to be controlled by the sales consultants and none have fixed pricing. I’ve also noticed that their own employees seemed to be leaving 5 star reviews on all platforms. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions as a former employee.
