Pros
- A comprehensive product portfolio from in-memory data management to business process excellence - Constantly adding new products through acquisitions
Cons
- Slow as a large company yet weak as a small one -should be the opposite. Not a disruptive player anymore, new acquisitions are good but not game changers. Most people in the IT don't even know the name. Very weak presence in social media. - Short-term financial goals > Customer loyalty + customer satisfaction + employee loyalty + a happy organisation culture. Focus is solely on license and product sales, not on successfully delivered solutions. Bad reputation in the market. - Weak cloud and big data strategy. Old school solutions, falling behind the competition. - Unrealistic targets, lack of team synergy, too much focus on quarter-end numbers cause excessive turnover in sales. Sales reps are made the scapegoat for poor sales. - Software AG solution skills are not in demand in the job market. Almost no partner network, no consulting firm wants to invest in Software AG skills due to lack of consistent, big deals. Software AG is also trying to divest its consulting business. - Too much office politics and incompetent mid-management won't let you simply do your job.
