Pros

Stability, tends to attract good employees, strong union presence.

Cons

The company is well past it's prime and employee morale is at an all time low both on the union and management sides. Micromanagement is ever increasing, benefits and perks are disappearing and compensation and COL adjustments are inadequate. Most employees are overworked and underpaid. The few employees that still attempt to be optimistic are starting to leave for better opportunities that offer a better work life balance and compensation to boot. This company seems hellbent on forcing most of its staff to quit by making the work environment as inefficient and uncomfortable as possible. Walk through the aisles of any office and you'll hear murmers of people's many gripes with the direction the company is taking. I expect they won't survive, at least as they are now considering the upcoming electrification of California. My assumption is that executives are aware of this fact and are looking to downsize its staff in the interim until they find a way to stay relevant in the new California Utility landscape.

Pros

There were so many opportunities when I first started ten years ago. Benefits were good but standard. HAD a great reputation of keep good employees.

Cons

All that changed last year when they laid off 2% of their workforce with no prior notice. Morale has gone down. Workload has increased. Upper management is known for conducting interviews while already knowing who they're already going to hire. The do the interviews so they can appear to be fair.
