Pros

The biggest plus about Snowdon is it offer a great opportunity to grow and learn the industry. I had no previous experience in the industry and Snowdon gave me the opportunity where few others did . Everyone is treated fairly and opportunities to grow are available.

Cons

Any cons that I do have I can take directly to management, and have in the past.

Pros

there is no pros at snowdon

Cons

over worked, underpaid and SEXIST! Mike Parker didnt pay my notice period or allow me time for hospital appointments to the point that a nurse came into the office to take my bloods. There are more managers than there is staff so as you can imagine its overly micromanaged and dont expect to take your holidays without being questioned on why you need time off. There's no progression opportunities either! On top of all that management discriminate claiming that i need communication training due to my accent.

Snowdon Recruitment Response
3y
I am very disappointed to read this review because we take the welfare of our colleagues alongside our ethical stand very seriously. I would like to respond to every element in the order of the allegations made: "over worked, underpaid and SEXIST!" - It is simply not the case. At no point have any team members been asked to work additional hours, we run a relaxed team environment with very realistic expectations. All team members have their salary reviewed annually and I don’t think that this person worked for us for more than 9 months. This team member joined us with no prior recruitment experience and was paid commensurate to this level which they were happy with at the time we offered them the position. In addition, all team members earned monthly bonuses regardless of their contribution. We pride ourselves on being a responsible company with an ethical approach to everything that we do. We have a Diversity and Inclusivity policy which we abide by in everything that we do. We take very seriously any allegation of sexism and welcome the opportunity to discuss how this person felt discriminated against in anyway. Furthermore I am willing to undertake an independent investigation to ensure that there is no form of bias or discrimination at any level in our company. "Mike Parker didnt pay my notice period" We have always, without fail honoured our contractual and moral agreements. In this instance they simply left the business without offering to work a notice period. In fact, they told me that they were leaving to go into a Social Care role and not joining a competitor, I was concerned that they were not making the right decision (for them) and gave them Thursday, Friday and the weekend to think about (which they were paid for) asking only that they let me know on Monday. They didn't contact me to let me know either way even though we tried to contact them. We didn't hear from them again for several weeks until they realised that they would not be paid the notice had neither offered nor worked. I would have happily allow them to work their notice and paid this, as it turned out they did join a direct competitor even though they they said they weren't. We were referred to ACAS by them on this matter. After reviewing the facts ACAS took no further action. "or allow me time for hospital appointments to the point that a nurse came into the office to take my bloods" We were advised by this person of a medical condition that would require them to attend appointments regularly before we offered them the position. We accepted this and at no point restrained in any way their availability for medical appointments. I do remember that a nurse attended the office for an appointment, but they had arranged this and we were unaware of this being possible and had not at any time requested this. "There are more managers than there is staff so as you can imagine its overly micromanaged" I'm sorry that you felt micromanaged, but this is nothing to do with the number of managers. At the time we had 8 employees and 2 managers both of which had been promoted from within and learning their roles. We may not have got the management balance right all of the time but I do know that the tone of everything that we do is based on understanding, support and tolerance. "and dont expect to take your holidays without being questioned on why you need time off. " This is simply not true and as a matter of fact there were no holidays owing to this person when they left. "There's no progression opportunities either!" It is alleged by this person that there were "more managers than staff", surely it can't be both of these? As a growing company progression of team members is essential for growth which is supported by weekly internal and external training sessions. "On top of all that management discriminate claiming that i need communication training due to my accent." We considered the progression opportunities but had concerns over written communication skills of this person. We offered them an external communication skills courses which they declined. Again, we take any allegations of discrimination extremely seriously and will contact this person to invite them to take part in an investigation.
