Pros
SnapStream is a one-in-a-million company that somehow manages to maintain the unique character of a startup almost two decades from its inception. Some businesses may tout their culture as an attractive bulletpoint in a job description but SnapStream transcends that. Day to day the work place is vibrant and alive with very passionate, driven individuals. Everyone here looks out for each other like family and while the atmosphere is laid back you are expected to bring your A-game every day. The small, intimate nature of the company ensures your work is highly visible and invariably valued. If you are like me you are somewhat introverted and shy in person you will appreciate the broad swaths of personalities and like-minds available no matter what your interests or sociability level. In sum, this is a great place to work! I am stoked to be a small part of it and earnestly excited to see what SnapStream evolves into over the next decade.
Cons
Not much in the way of cons but be prepared to familiarize yourself with the vernacular of various broadcasting and audio/visual engineering terms. Depending on your role you may need to know either a vanishingly small amount of technical details or be required to have quite a broad understanding of the streaming universe. Company is relatively flat hierarchically so there aren’t too many arbitrary tiers or ladder rungs to climb but there is always room for advancement or pivoting into another role that is more aligned to your strong suite.
