Pros

The general population of workers are a pretty great group to work with. Mostly hard working individuals work there trying to just make a check and go home.

Cons

HR and management is horrendous! HR has a bunch of parties for themselves, take extremely long lunches, and you can work there comfortably IF they like you. The management is weak at best. The good managers can’t do anything or make decisons without going to upper management; and when you do go; you are told “my way or get out”. A lot of backstabbing here at this place. The owners seem nice enough and like they used to care about their product; but have checked out to what’s really going on in the company.

Pros

I want to say there is at least one good thing about smokercraft, and it's their chosen 401k provider (Fidelity Investments) that allows to pull hardship loans.

Cons

1. Cut production hours for the last TWO YEARS, to 4 days a week, 32 hours, cut production number so parts bonus is next to nill. 2. Zero inclusion of the working class employees for how things run or what is happening. 3. The people who have nothing to do with making boats, make ALL of the decisions concerning boat production. 4. Taking away the point of efficency pay (Finished in 6 hours? Paid for 8) by forcing the fast worker to go and fill in other positions. 5. Zero, and I mean ZERO communication to employees. A one day notice that we're taking two weeks off, UNPAID. Like, who is making these decisions for us to have 16 weeks off, unpaid since January? Not counting the 14 last year. 6. No chance to transfer or get a promotion, unless you're family or really good at "sucking".
