Pros

-Good salaries if you can avoid being laid off every quarter when they don't meet their numbers -Exciting industry

Cons

-CEOs may be good at raising investment capital, but they are not always good at running companies.- -Mismanaging company funds -No health insurance (although they offer a stipend) -No 401-k -They have so many ideas and try to roll them all out. Every day they seem to be going in a different direction. -Workers constantly wondering whether they will have a job the next day or if the company will still be around -Engineers are overworked and expected to work nights and weekends 60-80 hours per week

Thank you for posting this review. I appreciate the honest feedback and value everyone who has contributed to the company. We do our best to provide generous salaries and health insurance, including a stock option plan for us all to share in the value we are creating. There was a time that our engineers put in many extra hours and weekends to meet key deadlines, it was hard and I appreciate every single hour which helped us get to where we are today. We paid extra bonuses for some of this time and now that we are past those deadlines, we offer a more balanced work life. Our company has a board of directors which reviews all of our spending and we have an annual audit all of our financials by a major accounting firm. With that said, managing a fast growing company is always a challenge and there are ups and downs on the path. To help stabilize this growth, we recently closed a $15M round of funding to hire additional engineers as well as an experienced president with extensive operations experience. I appreciate the advice and will continue to work to continue to improve the experience here at Smartvue for every single team member.

Thank you for the feedback, its important to me and the company as a whole. I appreciate the comment about communication, we work hard to be transparent and "share" in our growth as a company. In regards to turnover rate, as you may know, Nashville is growing dramatically and competition for talent continues to grow at the same time. We are launching a proactive effort to make sure we stay ahead of the growth to continue to offer the best jobs, with the most interesting growth opportunities, at the best salaries in Nashville. In regards to workload, I will bring that to the attention of our executive staff for individual reviews. We are committed to a balanced work environment.

Pros

I've really been enjoying working at Smartvue, and I think there are a couple key reasons for this: - I really do think we have a great team, and I'm tremendously grateful for that. - The leadership has shown itself to be wonderful at understanding how to handle issues that can crop up. I truly appreciate that the attitude is never finger pointing, but "what do we learn and how do we get better". This alone has gone a long way towards really endearing me to the company. - The product itself is continuing to evolve, and that makes it something exciting to work on and be a part of.

Cons

We continue to evolve the product on a daily basis, which is great. However, this can mean that we don't have time to work on some things that might be worth giving attention to. I think we're doing a decent job of prioritizing, though. So, this may not be much of an issue as we focus on goals in the future.
