Pros

"Learn by Doing" is a good representation of smartboost's work culture. Learning is an integral part of what we do, and though our team is exceptionally talented and can help you with most things, a lot of the time you need to learn how to do things by just trying them—and failure is okay. You'll also have the opportunity to put your hands into a lot of different projects and get a holistic view of what it means to digitally market a business. As far as the social culture, it has never been better than what it is now. Teams from different departments talk to each other, and we often get the chance to collectively collaborate on creative projects.

Cons

The main downside (can also be viewed as a positive) is that this team is small, and you're going to need to wear a lot of hats. This place is made for problem-solvers, and not as much for people who need clear instruction and direction for their daily tasks. That can make a transition into this workplace a bit challenging at first, but an easy remedy for this is to put on a smile, open yourself up to learning new things and asking for help, and keep moving forward.

Pros

I had some really great supportive managers and fellow interns while I interned here. They were very friendly and eager to teach me things when asked. It was nice getting to learn more about Agency life and about marketing strategies.

Cons

The turnover seemed very high. Two of my managers left while I was interning which was only a span of about 4 months. It was easy to see the owners didn't really care about interns and managers here. Us interns were only being used for the grunt work, and other employees would try to get us to do the tedious work they didn't want to do probably because they were probably overworked themselves. The owners have other businesses and it felt like I was doing free marketing promotion for them for those companies. Definitely not worth it in my opinion intern at a place that actually cares about your growth.
