Great place to work - Senior Solutions Architect SmartDog Services Employee Review

Pros

I had complete independence of doing my work without any micro management from the seniors. It was the best consulting job I had and would have never left if not for family issues. Pay is not a problem for the right candidate and your knowledge is respected. Being a small size company, bureaucracy was non existent and the CEO personally knows every employee. The projects were in all variety and you can choose what you want to do.

Cons

Not a highly recognized name and I guess the name itself needs some improvement :). Jokes apart, sometimes it felt that mitigation projects were too small and may not be worth mentioning on the CV, but they were may be 20% of my work load. Rest of the time I was busy with implementations and upgrade projects.

Pros

When I came to SmartDog, my goal was to choose a company where I would be working with good people and with a leadership team that I could respect. My goal was also to find a company where I could be happy for several years and could continue to build my career vs. just doing a job. Thankfully, that’s what I've found at SmartDog. What makes SmartDog a great place to work really boils down to a few key points for me: • People - Sounds clichéd, but the people you work with on a day-to-day basis are everything. We have a dedicated, passionate, and super talented team that I love working with. • Leadership - The exec team is awesome. Approachable and selective about getting the "right" clients, and hiring the right people. • Work & Culture – The work is challenging. The environment is dynamic and fast paced. No two days are alike.

Cons

Although it is actively being worked on, in some areas there is a lack of consistent processes, which can be a challenge at times.
