Thank you so much for this, it really means a lot to the whole team. We work hard to create an environment where people can do their best work without burning out, so hearing that it shows means we're on the right track. And we love that you want to refer friends! Growing our footprint is very much part of the plan, so hopefully that con won't last too long. At our last all hands we shared the new locations were expanding into! So glad you made the change. Welcome to the Small Door family. Florent Peyre Co-Founder & CEO

Pros

I’ve worked in larger corporate environments as well as other startup companies, and Small Door is by far the best-managed organization I’ve been a part of. Small Door fosters a positive, supportive culture with very low tolerance for toxicity, which creates a healthy and respectful work environment. There is a strong commitment to practicing high-quality, gold-standard medicine, and that standard is upheld consistently across teams and leadership. Open communication and transparency are true strengths here. There is clear, intentional reasoning behind decisions, and leadership is thoughtful about explaining the “why,” which builds trust and alignment. As long as you come in with a positive mindset and an understanding that decisions are made deliberately and with care, it’s easy to feel confident in the direction of the company. While Small Door continues to grow and evolve, and with that comes some growing pains, they are understandable, well-communicated, and manageable. There is meaningful opportunity for growth and development, and contributions are recognized and valued, a very equitable company. Despite being a growing organization, it doesn’t feel corporate in the traditional sense due to the transparency, accessibility of leadership, and focus on people. Overall, Small Door shows tremendous promise and is a rewarding place to work for those who value high standards, collaboration, and forward-thinking leadership.

Cons

As a growing and evolving organization, there are natural growing pains, including processes and workflows that continue to be refined over time. The pace can be fast, and priorities may shift as the company responds thoughtfully to new information and opportunities. This environment is best suited for individuals who are adaptable, solution-oriented, and comfortable with change. While communication is transparent and frequent, it does require engagement and organization to keep up. For those who prefer a highly rigid or static structure, this may feel challenging, but for others it reflects a company that is actively listening, learning, and improving.

Thank you for taking the time to write this so thoughtfully. It genuinely reflects what we are trying to build, a place where people feel respected, where the medicine is excellent, and where leadership is accountable and accessible. You also put into words something we think about a lot: the growing pains are real, but they are a sign of a company that is listening and moving forward, not standing still. We are committed to making sure that evolution feels manageable and well supported for everyone on the team. Thank you for being part of it. Reviews like this remind us why we do this. Pros

There was so much to do. There isn’t an idle time so you’ll never be bored.

Cons

Processes are slow. We still do things manually, feels like working in the ice age! I don’t understand why management still couldn’t figure things out when they’ve been operating for years! Working here is ridiculous!
