Pros

After working for this company for nearly a year, I find that the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Being able to help people learn about their health and make real connections is challenging at times, but deeply rewarding. And to help contribute to clients who lose sometimes upwards of 100 pounds and over just by teaching them how to eat healthy normal foods beats working for some of the other weight loss companies I've been exposed to. I get to work flexible hours thankfully and I'm lucky to have a cool manager who has let me learn what I want to learn. For me, there's actual growth opportunity here and not just someone telling me there is. And the commission structure leaves room to often improve my earnings without having to feel like my only option is to sell, sell, sell. It is a sales position but the heart of it all is helping people improve their lives. The bottom line is this is an interesting job where I get to help educate people about their health, engage in a positive dialogue about weight loss and I feel like I've learned a lot.

Cons

As with all jobs, there can be challenges. Working with individuals who are losing weight can include strong personalities and clients who struggle to surrender their notions of what hasn't worked for them in the past. Be prepared to have to politely call out clients for not being truthful sometimes but its always an opportunity for growth and continued weight-loss education. And the hours can be long but at least we get paid for them.

Pros

The clients and achieving good skills.

Cons

Like others have stated, you get what you put into it, until they burn you out because their business model is so archaic that few people's passion for the job can overcome the whiplash, head spinning direction, knee jerk reactions and decision making based on emotional suspicion rather than logic and well thought out processing of information. If you need me to more specific, it's everything. Because of this, the Managers and Area Supervisors who work in centers are set up to fail because their exceptions are very generalized and rarely clear, which trickles down. The other problem is selling products and services to clients online, which affects the paychecks of all staff members. The response from the CEO and Director? Sell more, give them better service and they won't buy online...despite the fact that the company markets to them online, with cheaper prices and we are not able to match them in center. You can draw your own conclusions on how that effects employee moral and how everyone (but the CEO) makes their living.
