Pros
My experience at SlideGenius was a mixed bag, to say the least. For fresh graduates (entered as one), it might seem like a passable starting point, but beneath the surface lies a minefield of red flags that should make any prospective employee think twice.
Cons
Let’s address the elephant in the room: management’s indifference. Despite their assurances, they couldn’t care less about their employees’ well-being. They excel at gaslighting, making you doubt your own concerns while deflecting any blame from themselves. Company meetings are a farce, with poorly thought-out policies being shoved down our throats without any consideration for employee feedback. And don’t even get me started on their disregard for the commuting struggles of their staff. Instead of addressing legitimate concerns, they brush them off with empty platitudes about having to work with one another again YAY and promoting company culture as a distraction tactic. Their so-called business decisions were nothing but smokes and mirrors. The numbers they flaunt to justify their Return to Office policies are cherry-picked and devoid of any meaningful analysis, simply there to create the illusion of competence. Get this, they tried doing this before but was only met with negative reactions that almost cause an internal Thanos snap. What made them think they could decide on this without getting any feedback from their employees which basically carry the entire company? What’s worse, the leadership is completely shortsighted, refusing to consider the long-term implications of their actions. Strategic questions are dismissed as “what if” scenarios, showing a blatant disregard for foresight and planning. But perhaps the most damning aspect of all is the culture of bullying perpetuated by tenured employees. New hires are targeted in meetings, fostering an environment of sycophancy over meritocracy; “Who’s the weakest newbie” is one of the topics that was brought up. Beware. Lasted quite awhile because of their wfh setup because I don’t get to see any of them, but now they’re trying to bring back in office work with their toxic culture, I don’t think it’s still worth it. There are so much better opportunities out there, SlideGenius isn’t one of them.
