Pros

Casual, flexible schedule, can work from home, smart, creative, funny people to work with, big audience, good exposure, people work hard and have high quality standards, good place to learn as a self-starter.

Cons

Insular work environment, hard to communicate with management, long hours, being on call, working nights and weekends, pay and benefits do not reflect amount of work demanded.

Pros

Smart, collaborative team with a strong editorial voice. Leadership is approachable, and there’s a genuine emphasis on work life balance. Great environment for learning and contributing ideas.

Cons

As a smaller organization, resources can be limited and teams often wear multiple hats. Compensation and long-term growth opportunities may not be as competitive as larger media companies.
