Pros

Very few: - You get to work at large well-known tech companies. - You get free food in the office often if you attend dumb company socials and events. That is it!

Cons

Omg! If you are a technical consultant and are looking to grow here, this is NOT the place for you. Career growth is very challenging, a lot of staff augmentation/underwhelming projects, a lot of uncertainty as to what you will end up doing, projects are driven by Slalom’s ability to make $$ on your skillsets as much as they can. If you are into sales or tech management, this may be okay. Don’t believe on those stellar reviews - there is a very strong movement internally for employees to post good reviews based on a false company-depicted image of success in the rankings of one of “best places to work for”. The reality internally is not what it looks like on the outside. Keep it real, save your career from the fall, and seek employment elsewhere!

This is John Tobin. It pains me to say this, but this may be a Silicon Valley specific challenge. For instance, I believe our Build teams love the technical work they are doing. We are also working on a strategy to better extend this to our markets like SV. I'd be happy to talk to you more about what you experienced if you would like - simply email me at johnt@slalom.com to set up a time to speak. Alternatively, if you’d like to share more feedback anonymously, please consider doing so via this survey: http://slalom.ws/anonsurvey.

Pros

•There is an impressive budget, especially for high-level events, ancillary experiences, client giveaways, and premium swag. Management does not hesitate to fund top-notch brand experiences when needed. •The company offers a highly competitive benefits and perks package that remains a strong selling point.

Cons

•The "fiercely human" core value does not match daily operations. Collaboration is routinely replaced by a self-service model of training videos and help articles. •These recurring shifts are designed to manufacture the appearance of fiscal stability for the benefit of external stakeholders and clients, while leaving core operational deficits unaddressed. •Organizational maturity is low. Teams operate in deep silos, the internal tech stack is outdated, and there is a distinct lack of adequate project and event management software.
