Pros

So many pros in this company! My favorite was the remote company culture. There was a lot of flexibility with the option to work from home and really to create your own hours. You get to really make a difference in lives of students and see a direct impact of what you do every single day. Skillify also really embraces technology and is a forward thinking company so as the company grows, so will you. There is so much to be gained from working here. I learned so much both professionally and personally in this position and got to work with co-workers who truly cared about each other. I cannot say enough good things about Skillify!

Cons

Sometimes working from home can get lonely, I was talking to my dog a lot lol, but Skillify encourages co working with fellow co workers and constant communication.

Pros

At my previous company, we talked a lot about the growth mindset but no one knew how to actually implement it properly. When I joined Skillify, I truly learned what it meant and how to develop a growth mindset not just within myself but across the team. I transitioned out of Skillify to pursue my Masters but it was a hard decision - I feel like I got 10 years of experience within a short amount of time. I still stay in touch with Shireen Jaffer who continues to mentor and support me through my professional journey. She built the company from nothing and despite its strong growth, she continues to improve every day and the company continues to value people above all else. Also, as long as you share the same mindset, Skillify will go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of.

Cons

When I was at Skillify, we had an in-office culture. I know now it's become remote, but at that time, we worked at a co-working space and the daily commute was terrible as the location wasn't central to everyone. Plus, when coaching students, it was tough to do so at a co-working place with lack of privacy. I'm sure the team is happy to be remote now. Skillify is in Education, and works with students of all backgrounds and many of them share some very emotional stories with their coaches. While rewarding, it can be emotionally challenging if you are not experienced in this work.
