Pros

I have worked at Skillcrush for ~5yrs. I started as a Design Instructor and was given the opportunity to move into the development team and since then to a technical leadership position. Skillcrush is a successful business, but still a small and growing startup. This means you are given the opportunity to do a lot more than your job role. If you lean into this your growth and understanding of how a startup business is run will be huge. You are given the space to make decisions that will impact the business, but it is your job to explain how and why that decision is the right one. REMOTE! You cannot beat remote work. You have the freedom to work where you want. There are core working hours that a team tries to stick too, but Skillcrush gives you freedom and space to work at times you work best. Also, life is crazy and I have never worked at a place that is so understanding with your time and making accomodations when you life gets crazy. Don't even get me started on benefits. I am not sure what all can be covered, but leave is fantastic and healthcare is there if you need it.

Cons

Remote work also has it's difficulties no matter how much work you put into it and as a fully remote company it would be nice to see the whole team in person. That being said I wouldn't trade the remote part of my job for anything.
