Pros

Skayl is a great place to be. There are lots of fun problems to work on every day. Always a new challenge. I find myself building user interfaces, refining complex data models, and implementing graph algorithms in a functional language. And that's all before lunch! In the afternoon heat we have a group scream sesh over database schemas, then stare blankly at the horizon as we ponder life's difficult questions.

Cons

We are crammed like sweaty sardines into a car wash attic, where disgruntled customers come interrupt us to complain about being trapped for 45 minutes.

Ah... but the memories we made above that little car wash!! In all honesty, we have to admit we're grateful those days can be archived to the memory banks as well and thankful for the move to our new, spacious headquarters. Your input and the input of your team members went a long way to creating this great new space with the PS4, bean bags and snack bar. Thanks for the sense of humor that makes Skayl a fun place to come to work every day and for the great feedback, too!

Pros

Skayl is working on cutting edge problems. The work is challenging and tends to be really abstract, but at the end of the day, will change how computing is done. The company works really hard on cultivating a great culture where everyone is welcome to contribute to the company. No idea is too big; no person is too small.

Cons

There is very little immediate gratification. The team is pretty good about celebrating milestone victories, but the overall technical approach has taken/will take a while to develop. Success won't happen overnight, but good things are happening!
