Pros

Some of the people here are insanely talented and you learn a lot by working in teams with them. Processes are in place to support any number of activities. Some good benefits including massage and breakfasts. Management open to new ideas but lack staff to implement. Training budget and access to BrightonSEO was amazing but a lot of the time I was too busy to fit in training which was frustrating. Central office but a major homeless problem outside which meant clients were a bit put off. Some great clients who trusted the agency completely to deliver and provided challenges at times. Some flexible working opportunities but working from home didn’t work out due to team feedback - despite clients being happy.

Cons

Staff are very driven and motivated to the sacrifice of a bubbly office atmosphere. It’s not an agency to make firm friends - and the feedback process is very poor. It’s a shame a lot of talented people have passed through the doors and not stayed - the ‘benefits’ are sometimes just a basic right. If things could evolve and direction sound from management - less focus on internal and more external sales work and support - it would be really great. Never got to properly set up a service which would have allowed the agency to expand its offering - and a lack of creativity / creative ideas to deliver. Not through the team who had some cracking ideas - but selling to clients seemed to fall down due to miscommunication. Frustrated by sales process and job definition lacked clarity after a while. Lots of managers - not many support staff in the delivery team. Freelancers just don’t offer the same value.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on SiteVisibility. We usually get positive feedback about the benefits we offer but we've decided to review them to explore what improvements we can make for 2020 and your feedback will be considered as part of that. During December we're also trialling a 4 day working week and I look forward to seeing whether we can make that work - I'm not aware of many businesses which offer that level of experimentation. It's true that the office can be quiet sometimes but an example of feedback on TinyPulse tells us that that members of the team think the office is harmonious and we're all on the same page and working towards a common goal. We can however always do better, onwards and upwards.

Pros

New management style and improved processes. New management systems have addressed work / life imbalances. Fairly flat reporting structure. Open feedback via Tiny Pulse. Highly collaborative atmosphere A days training a month. Decent holiday entitlement. Salary in line with industry standards. Plenty of benefits: pension, dental scheme, bagel Mondays, lunch and learns, working from home, employee of the month, annual awards, bonuses, monthly team outings, beer o'clock. Broad spectrum of clients. Scope to explore latest trends and new tools/technologies. Opportunities to write on the company blog, appear on podcasts / webinars. Opportunities for public speaking Great if you're a self starter, willing to learn fast and have an entrepreneurial flair. You will be rewarded. Brighton SEO involvement.

Cons

Nothing major, the business has turned a corner (just look at the staff retention level) over the period I've worked there. There have been hard times, but this is in the past. Like any boutique agency (family) there are occasional internal conflicts. If you want an easy going salaried position, look elsewhere. Most team members carry a high level of responsibility and pressure, so there's nowhere to hide (or colleagues to blame) when work delivered is of a poor standard or doesn't get done in timely fashion. Time management is an issue at any agency. Under scoping work still happens and it's unlikely this can be completely resolved.
